About

Hex Appeal is a blog which started off about Games Workshops Warhammer Underworlds Shadespire tabletop miniature and deck building game.

However I have decided to revive the name and cover a really exciting game called Aristeia.

I suppose the first thing I should do is provide a little background.

Hi, my name is  Michael Myers (if you are thinking of a joke its been done). On social media and pretty much everywhere else I am Myk (much easier to get email addresses…).

I have been a gamer since I was 12 (a few years ago now) started with all things Games Workshop. At 18 I took a key timer job at Games Workshop Meadowhall and loved it. As I discovered beer (pledging my loyalty to the guild) and clubs gaming became a non-existent part of my life.

Many years later I found myself in the downstairs of a soon to open FLGS painting and making scenery as a favour. Getting paid in store credit was a bad idea… Since my early days there were now so many more options available to a gamer with disposable store credit. I started collecting Circle of Orboros for Warmachine and Hordes. I enjoyed the game but played in a super competitive meta so eventually lost inspiration to play.

Around this time one of my locals mentioned Guild Ball and I knew some of the guys involved. This was 2 days before the KS closed and panic added on a team. I have been playing Guild Ball since this time, was one of the original Pundits and was lucky enough to be a judge at last 2 years of the Guild Ball World Team Championships.

Recently I have discovered Aristeia! And can’t contain my excitement and have decided to revive this blog.
